Natividad Sanchez of Edinburg, TX, also won $50,000. He too received number suggestions via text. His winning white ball numbers of 4, 8, 19, 27 and Powerball number 10 were suggested by his dad. Joined by his father, Natividad Sr., and mother Monica, they shared that Sanchez's manual pick numbers were what his dad thought was the number of years he had been married and what he thought was his wedding anniversary. His mother laughed and said, "He was wrong."
When asked what he would buy with his prize, Sanchez responded, "A haircut and boots." He paused, and then said, 'and maybe a truck."
This was the first time Sanchez had ever played Powerball. His Carlsbad coworkers were discussing the jackpot and talked him into buying a ticket. He purchased his winning ticket at Allsup's Store #243 at 102 E. Church Street in Carlsbad.
