Robert Padua had plans to play guitar with his friends, but when they weren't home, he figured he would stop and buy a Powerball ticket.
"I thought, why not? I had a feeling someone on the west coast was going to win it, so I bought a bunch," Padua said. "This was meant to be."
Turns out Padua's $10 Powerball quick pick ticket turned into $50,000 when four of his numbers and the Powerball matched the winning numbers.
"At first I thought I won $100, which was cool, but then I checked it again and realized I won $50,000," he said. "I always notice when the quick pick wins, so I was really excited."
Padua said he was going to buy the motorcycle he has always wanted and self-customize it. He purchased his ticket at Ernie's Food Mart in Salem.
