#powerball Oklahoma Resident Wins $50,000 in Missouri

January 28th, 2016

Kanen Craig may not have matched all the numbers for the historic $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot, but he did manage to match four of his numbers and the Powerball, resulting in a $50,000 prize. Craig, who lives in Spavinaw, Okla., but works in Southwest City, purchased his $50,000 Missouri Lottery Powerball Quick Pick ticket from The Filling Station, 27 Route O in Southwest City, on Jan. 13.

Craig, who works in excess of 60 hours per week in food production, was at work when he realized he had won $50,000. Skeptical of his apparent good fortune, Craig had his co-workers look over the ticket to see if they were seeing the same numbers. When they agreed that Craig had won big, he took the ticket to a Missouri Lottery retailer to confirm his win, and he later claimed his prize at the Lottery's Springfield regional office.

The 24-year-old plans to pay off bills and put the remaining amount in the bank, where he plans to keep it as a nest egg for years to come.
