#powerball $1 million Powerball prize claimed by East Bridgewater resident

January 26th, 2016

Robert Dole of East Bridgewater has claimed the second of two $1 million Powerball prizes sold in Massachusetts in the multi-state game's record-setting $1.586 billion jackpot drawing held Wednesday, January 13.

Dole was joined by his wife Susan at the Massachusetts State Lottery's Braintree headquarters on Thursday, January 14 to claim his prize. He used a combination of birthdays and anniversaries to select his winning numbers, which matched the first five numbers in Wednesday's drawing to win his $1,000,000 prize (before tax withholdings). Bob and Susan are interested in buying a newer house with their winnings and they also plan to travel someplace warm so that they can relax and discuss what to do with the balance of the prize.

Dole bought his winning ticket at Tedeschi Food Shops, 52 Bedford St. in East Bridgewater. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
