January 26th, 2016

Keith Bauer of Boston has claimed one of the two $1 million Powerball prizes sold in Massachusetts in the multi-state game's record-setting $1.586 billion jackpot drawing held Wednesday, January 13.

Bauer, who was joined by his wife Sara at the Massachusetts State Lottery's Braintree headquarters to claim his prize, matched the first five winning numbers on one of his Quic Pic tickets to win his $1,000,000 (before tax withholdings). He plans on using his winnings to pay off his and his wife's student loans and help out their parents.

Bauer purchased his lucky ticket at 777 Convenience Store, 269 Main St. in Charlestown. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
