Alvin Skinner of Springfield is Massachusetts's newest $1 million Powerball prize winner after matching the first five winning numbers in the multi-state game's drawing held Saturday, May 2, 2015.

Skinner claimed his $1 million prize (less taxes) at the Massachusetts State Lottery's Braintree headquarters on Monday, May 4. He plans on buying a house and a car with his winnings.

Skinner’s winning ticket was purchased at Murphy’s Pop Stop, 74 Island Pond Rd. in Springfield. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
