A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million has emerged in Gwinnett County for a lucky north Fulton County man. Dean Tapp of Johns Creek, GA matched the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 20 Powerball drawing, tapping a $1 million prize.
The Quik Pik ticket was purchased at QuikTrip #0786, 4080 Buford Drive in Buford.
Tapp, 64, said he discovered that he'd won while checking his tickets at the store.
"On the last try, it came up that I'd won something," Tapp said.
A grandfather of three, Tapp has two adult children and is the owner of a manufacturing company in Suwanee.
The lucky winner intends to help his children financially, donate a portion to charity and pay off his home mortgage.
