#powerball Vineyard resident is $1 million Powerball winner

Laura Watt of West Tisbury is the winner of a $1 million prize in the multi-state Powerball game's drawing held Saturday, July 5, 2014. It is the second straight drawing in which a $1 million winning ticket was sold in Massachusetts.

Watt claimed her $1 million (less taxes) at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Braintree on Monday, July 14. She plans to take some time before determining what she will do with her winnings.

Watt purchased her winning Quic Pic ticket at Woodland Variety, 455 State Road in Vineyard Haven. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus on the sale.
