Vermont Lottery officials announced today that the owners of the $1,000,000 Powerball ticket, sold at Currier's Quality Market in Glover Vermont, claimed their winnings today. The winning ticket, which was a Quick Pick, matched five out of five numbers, not including the Powerball. Wednesday's winning numbers were 28, 33, 41, 44, 59; the Powerball was 21 with the PowerPlay multiplier 02. The Powerball jackpot was not hit Wednesday, allowing the Powerball jackpot to roll to an estimated $50,000,000 for this Saturday's, March 29th drawing.

The young couple discovered their good fortune early Thursday morning as they checked the winning numbers on the Vermont Lottery website, vtlottery.com. After double checking numerous times, they got dressed and went down to Currier's where they regularly purchase their tickets.

Jeff Currier, whose father James owns the store, said the winner was "knocking on their door at 5:30" this morning. Currier's Quality Market is one of the original Vermont lottery agents from when the lottery started back in 1978.

The winners have no immediate plans for their new found wealth but have been loyal Powerball® and Megabucks® players for years.
