The Arizona Lottery announces that the winner of the $1 million Powerball second prize from the drawing on May 11 has come forward. This is the 22nd $1 million Powerball second prize winning ticket sold in Arizona since $2 Powerball launched in January 2012 and one of three second prize winning tickets sold during the record-breaking $590.5 million Powerball jackpot run.
Krista Crawley, a registered nurse from Phoenix, purchased her winning ticket from the QuikTrip located at 2450 E. Union Hills Drive in Phoenix. Crawley discovered she was a winner on Mother's Day, but waited to speak to a financial advisor to get "all her ducks in a row" before claiming the prize on Monday, May 20.
Crawley said her win didn't seem real to her until she actually saw the check. She is planning to go on a family vacation and invest the rest of her winnings.
