With an estimated annuitized jackpot of $244 million for the March 22 drawing, Mega Millions is the hottest ticket in town.
A total of 1,567,685 tickets nationwide won prizes in the March 18 drawing. That includes one ticket that won $1 million. That ticket was bought in Texas. An additional 11 tickets won $250,000. Those tickets were bought in Georgia (1), Michigan (1), New Jersey (5), Pennsylvania (1), South Carolina (1), Tennessee (1) and Texas (1).
The winning numbers were: 14-33-34-54-56 and the Mega Ball number was 37.
If no ticket matches all six numbers in Tuesday's drawing, the estimated jackpot is likely to approach the $300 million range for the March 25 drawing.
This jackpot has been growing since February 1, when the Mega Millions jackpot was last won. The jackpot has now rolled 13 times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 176 million. The odds of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes are approximately 1 in 40.
Taken together, the Mega Millions jackpot for March 22 and the Powerball jackpot for March 23 represent the sixth-highest combined jackpots since the two games began cross-selling in January 2010. The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $101 million.
