#megamillions Jackpot Grows to Estimated $237 Million for Friday's Drawing

Everything is getting bigger in Mega Millions: the jackpot, the number of winners, and above all, the excitement.  With nine different ways to win, a total of 1,545,752 tickets from coast to coast were winners in Tuesday's drawing.  Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the Friday, December 31 drawing grows to an estimated $237 million.

 

The winning numbers in the December 28 drawing were: 6-18-36-40-49 and the Mega Ball number was 7.

 

Three tickets used the Megaplier to win $1 million in Tuesday's drawing. Those tickets were bought in Arkansas, Texas and Vermont. An additional 14 tickets won $250,000.  They were bought in Arizona (1), California (2), Connecticut (1), Missouri (1), New Jersey (2), New York (1), Ohio (3), Pennsylvania (2), and Virginia (1).

 

This jackpot has been growing since November 9, when Mega Millions had its most recent jackpot winner. The jackpot has now rolled 14 times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 176 million. The odds of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes are approximately 1 in 40.
