RELEASE DATE: 6/23/2018
For the third time this year, the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed the $200 million mark, with an estimated $212 million prize ($126.8 million cash) on tap for next Tuesday, June 26. No ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night – the white balls 2, 6, 11, 27 and 44, plus the gold Mega Ball 20.
While the jackpot keeps rolling, there have been plenty of big winners in the game. The June 22 drawing produced a $1 million winner in Georgia, the 79th second-tier prize won in 2018. Sixteen of those have included the optional Megaplier (available in most states), turning the standard $1 million second prize into $2 million to $5 million windfalls.
Friday's drawing produced a total of 539,746 winning tickets at all prize levels. Since the last jackpot was won on May 4, there have been more than 6.4 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 14 worth $1 million or more.
The jackpot was last won in Ohio on May 4, when the ABC XYZ Trust collected $142 million. Two other jackpots have been awarded this year – $451 million on January 5 (in Florida) and $533 million on March 30 (in New Jersey). The latter prize is the fourth largest in the history of Mega Millions.
