#megamillions Jackpot keeps rolling, reaches $421 million!

The Mega Millions jackpot is entering rarified territory! The fifth largest jackpot in the history of the game will be offered on Friday, March 23, after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night – the white balls 14, 38, 51, 64 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 9. Friday's jackpot is an estimated $421 million ($250 million cash).

March has historically been a good month for jackpot wins, especially big jackpot wins. Over the years, 17 have been won during the month; of those, three rank among the ten largest Mega Millions jackpots in history. They include the record Mega Millions prize of $656 million on March 30, 2012, and a $414 million jackpot on March 18, 2014.

Tuesday's drawing produced a total of 1,146,062 winning tickets at all prize levels. Since the last jackpot was won on January 5, there have been more than 12.1 million winning tickets sold, including 31 worth $1 million or more.

   

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on January 5 at $451 million; a 20-year-old Florida man claimed that prize as the trustee of Secret 007, LLC.
