#megamillions Two $1 million winners as the jackpot keeps growing

The eighteenth largest prize in the history of Mega Millions – an estimated $265 million ($157 million cash) – will be offered next Tuesday, March 6. The jackpot continues to grow after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night – the white balls 24, 28, 42, 60 and 64, plus the gold Mega Ball 8.

Over the years, 17 jackpots have been won during the month of March, including the record Mega Millions prize of $656 million (March 30, 2012) and two other top ten jackpots.

While the jackpot remains elusive, there were two tickets that matched the five white balls Friday night to win $1 million, one each in Michigan and New York.

In total, the March 2 drawing produced almost 725,000 winning tickets at all prize levels. Since the last jackpot was won on January 5, there have been more than 7.7 million winning tickets sold, including 21 worth $1 million or more.

   

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on January 5 at $451 million; a 20-year-old Florida man claimed that prize as the trustee of Secret 007, LLC.
