#megamillions Mega Millions jackpot on the rise

For just the third time this year, the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $150 million, with an estimated $166 million up for grabs next Tuesday after no ticket matched all six numbers (2, 32, 35, 50, 59 plus the Mega Ball of 3) in the October 10 draw.

There were two Match 5 winners in Friday night's draw, one each in California and Ohio.

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won in California at $180 million on August 22. A California winner also took a $30 million jackpot on April 4. Other jackpot winners this year have been in Tennessee ($61 million on January 3), in New York ($20 million on March 25), in Pennsylvania ($149 million on May 20), in Michigan ($66 million on June 13) and in Texas ($33 million on June 27). The largest jackpot this year, and third-highest Mega Millions jackpot ever, was a $414 million prize split between winners in Florida and Maryland on March 18.
