#megamillions Largest Mega Millions jackpot since January!

After no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday night's drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $159 million ($95 million cash option) for Friday, May 15. That's the highest the jackpot has been since $265 million was won by an Illinois player on January 16.

The numbers drawn on May 12 were 14, 30, 33, 36 and 44, plus the Mega Ball of 2. Two tickets, each worth $1 million, matched the first five numbers; they were sold in New York and Texas.

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on March 24 by a group of 16 co-workers in New York, who shared a $58 million prize. While the jackpot has been elusive since then, more than 18.3 million prizes have been won at all levels since March 24. Of those, 19 were second prizes of $1 million to $5 million – thanks to the optional Megaplier, there were two $5 million prizes awarded in April.
