July 21st, 2015

RELEASE DATE: 7/22/2015

Middletown, PA – A jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket with an annuity value of $153 million was sold in Northumberland County for the Tuesday, July 21, drawing. The ticket was sold at Penn 80/Flying J Travel Plaza, 1460 N. Ridge Road, Milton, Penn.

The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 20-30-62-65-74, plus the Megaball, 01. The ticket has an annuity value of $153 million or a cash value of $91.7 million, less 25 percent federal withholding. If the winner accepts the cash, it would be the fourth-largest prize in Pennsylvania Lottery history.

The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

This jackpot prize must be claimed and the ticket validated before Lottery officials can identify the winner. Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed at Lottery headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is the Pennsylvania Lottery's second jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket since joining the multi-state game in 2010. The first was a $149 million annuity value jackpot sold for the May 20, 2014, drawing. It was claimed several months later by a couple from the Pittsburgh area who took the $86.8 million cash prize.

The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold 17 jackpot-winning Powerball tickets since joining that multi-state game in 2002.

The Mega Millions jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in Illinois on June 2. Last night's drawing produced two Match 5 winning tickets worth $1 million each, which were sold in New York and Texas.

More than 66,000 Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions tickets won prizes of varying amounts in last night's drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time.

In the 2013-14 fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $21.2 million in prizes to Northumberland County winners, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $12.8 million to programs serving the county's older residents.

How to Play Mega Millions: Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 75 and one number from 1 to 15 (the Mega Ball). Players may select their own numbers using a Mega Millions play slip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. For an extra $1 per play, players can add the Megaplier. Prior to the Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier number – ranging from two to five – is randomly selected. The Megaplier applies to non-jackpot prizes.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are sold until 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights, Tuesdays and Fridays.
