RELEASE DATE: 7/25/2015
A Texas Lottery player will collect on a multi-million prize as a $5 million winning ticket was sold in Dallas for the July 24 Mega Millions drawing. The ticket matched the five white balls – 10, 12, 26, 60 and 62, just missing the gold Mega Ball of 13. Because the ticket included the optional $1 Megaplier purchase, it is worth a whopping $5 million after the 5x Megaplier was drawn.
Texas' latest big winner follows a $4 million winner in the state from the June 30 drawing. Other recent Megaplier Match 5 winners include $3 million winners in Arkansas (July 7) and Maine (July 10). The latter was Maine's first multi-million Mega Millions winner since joining the game in 2010.
To date in 2015, there have been 11 multi-million Match 5 winners thanks to the Megaplier purchase, more than all of 2014.
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot rolls to an estimated $20 million ($12 million cash option) for the July 28 drawing.
