Mega Millions helped a lucky ticket holder in New York ring in the new year in a really big way. A single winning jackpot ticket was sold for Friday night's drawing, matching all six numbers drawn – the white balls 11, 39, 51, 57 and 75, plus the Mega Ball 2. The final jackpot amount was $169 million ($104 million cash). The jackpot was revised upward from the initial estimate due to strong sales.

The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won on November 13. That $202 million prize was claimed by the Lucky Duck Passive Trust of Columbus, Ohio.

Two tickets matched the five white balls in the January 8 drawing, sold in Maryland and Texas. They are worth $1 million each.

Since November 13, more than 22 million winning tickets at all prize levels were sold, including 22 worth at least $1 million.
