RELEASE DATE: 4/2/2016
The April 1 Mega Millions drawing produced another Match 5 winning ticket that included the optional Megaplier. With the 2x Megaplier drawn, the ticket, sold in Ohio, is worth $2 million. It is Ohio's second Megaplied Match 5 winner in the past month.
So far in 2016, six Match 5 winning tickets have included the Megaplier, a $1 optional additional purchase that multiplies all non-jackpot winnings by a factor of 2x to 5x. It is available in most states. Earlier 2016 Match 5 winning tickets were sold in Connecticut ($2 million), Colorado ($4 million), Florida ($5 million), Ohio ($5 million) and Wyoming ($5 million).
The $2 million Ohio ticket matched the five white balls drawn in the April 1 drawing – 25, 28, 33, 41 and 69, just missing the gold Mega Ball of 6 for the top prize. The estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, April 5, is $57 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling since it was last won in Seattle, Wash., on March 8. The winner of that $157 million prize claimed on March 24.
