#megamillions Mega Millions jackpot to $293 million; $5 million won in Texas

The Mega Millions jackpot is closing in on $300 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday night's drawing. The winning numbers for June 10 were 34, 61, 66, 67 and 68, plus the Mega Ball 7. The jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, June 14, is an estimated $293 million ($198 million cash)!

There were three tickets that matched the five white balls drawn Friday night. One, sold in Texas, included the optional Megaplier; with the 5x Megaplier drawn, that ticket is worth a whopping $5 million. The Megaplier is an optional purchase available in most jurisdictions. The other two Match 5 winning tickets were sold in Minnesota and North Carolina, and are worth $1 million each.

The Megaplier has enhanced more than 7.8 million winning tickets since January 1, including nine Match 5 tickets with prizes ranging from $2 million to $5 million. Those nine tickets were sold in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, North Dakota, Ohio (two), Texas (two) and Wyoming. The amounts won in North Dakota ($3 million) and Wyoming ($5 million) represent the largest lottery prizes ever awarded in those small lottery states!

In total, there have been almost 67 million winning tickets sold at all prize levels since January 1, including two jackpot wins (in New York and Washington) and 55 Match 5 wins.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since it was last won in Washington on March 8.
