#megamillions $2 million winners in Florida and Washington

$105 million jackpot to ring in the New Year

The last Mega Millions drawing of 2016 produced two $2 million winners, as tickets sold Florida and Washington each matched the five white balls and included the optional Megaplier. The winning numbers for Friday, December 30, were 6, 21, 33, 39 and 43, plus the Mega Ball 2. The first jackpot to be offered in 2017 will be an estimated $105 million ($62 million cash) on Tuesday, January 3.

The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won in Georgia on November 18. The year 2016 produced eight jackpot wins from $15 million to $536 million, with nine winning tickets sold. Jackpot winners came from Georgia (2), Illinois, Indiana, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington (2).

There were also 139 Match 5 winning tickets sold throughout 2016; 29 of those included the optional Megaplier to win prizes from $2 million to $5 million. During the year, Match 5 winning tickets were sold in 36 different states, from the smallest lottery states (North Dakota and Wyoming) to the largest (California and New York). Â

In total, there were almost 160 million winning Mega Millions tickets sold in 2016 at all prize levels.
