#megamillions $191 million Mega Millions ticket sold at Primm Valley Lotto Store claimed!

February 16th, 2017

RELEASE DATE: 2/17/2017

SACRAMENTO – Jack Freney is the Golden State's latest lucky winner of a massive California Lottery jackpot. That's because Freney matched all six numbers from the $191 million Mega Millions jackpot draw back on January 27.

When we asked Freney what he planned on doing with his newfound fortune he said he had only one thing to say about his big win: "This will allow me to correct all the wrong that I have incurred in my lifetime."

Freney told the California Lottery that he plans on taking the lump sum payout of $114.1 million (less federal taxes).

He bought his lucky ticket in Nipton (San Bernardino County) at Primm Valley Lotto, which is located at Interstate 15 and Stateline. It matched the winning numbers: 61, 53, 54, 17, 37 and Mega number 8.

"Over the past few weeks, we've been anxiously waiting to see who won like everyone else. Out here at Primm, we pride ourselves on creating a one-of-a-kind experience and winning a jackpot like this is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience," said Kerri Matherly, Director of Retail for Primm Valley Resorts.

Primm Valley Lotto, which sells the greatest volume of California Lottery tickets anywhere in the state, is a big winner as well! It will be receiving a $955,000 retailer bonus just for selling the winning ticket. (This bonus is paid from a separate fund and is not deducted from the winner's prize.)

Freney has declined any potential requests for media interviews or to take a winner photo. No additional information about him can be released.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states (plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the 22,000 California Lottery retailers or one of the more than 4,000 Lottery Lucky Retailers. Please visit the California Lottery's Mega Millions site for more information on how to play.

The California Lottery is a $6 billion enterprise based in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the State's General Fund. Its mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. In FY 2015-16, the Lottery created 98 new millionaires. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
